When I first started doing dance of shiva I fell in love with Level 3. It focused on a sequence of moves that repeated four times. It felt a little bit like I was doing Kung Fu.
I was dissapointed to find out that none of the levels beyond level 3 had the same sort of flow.
And so I designed Warp Sequences to make up for this lack.
A warp sequence is made up of four movements. The sequence of movements has to be repeated four times to return to the start.
Each warp sequence has the "feel" of Andrey's Level 3 sequence, but they are a little bit different.
In Warp 1 the movements are:
F-F, F-CB, F-B, CF-CT:
Starting from 1-1 one repetition of this sequence would take you to position a-2:
Repeat four times to get back to 1-1.
Note that there is no mirror move.
One of my goals in designing these warps was to make it easy (and interesting) to practice all possible movements with a minimum of effort. And so I designed seven warps, with no two warps containing the same moves. This means that you won't ever see the same move in more than one warp sequence. You can practice efficiently.
So that each warp sequence is "meaningful" I also gave them each an individual flavor.
In the warp 1 sequence from above, the flavor is Forwards (since three of the moves contain a Forwards movement.)
The other seven warps focus have the following flavors:
This makes each warp easier to learn since at least three moves contain the same element.
How does 7 warps, each with only four movements help you to practice 49 different movements
Using the above warp sequence as an example, you do the sequence once while standing on your right leg. Then when standing on your left leg you do the mirror.
After doing F-F, F-CB, F-B, CF-CT on the right leg you then do F-F, CB-F, B-F, CT-CF while standing on the left.
And so you get 7 moves for the price of four.
This mirroring technique allows you to practice all 49 movements with just 7 warps.
Jumping straight into a warp sequence without knowing the basics is difficult. However, one of the really great things about the dance of shiva is that movements are easy to break down into simple elements.
With warp sequences you can "break out" the movements that make up the sequence and you can practice them individually.
This is one of the ways that dance of shiva "teaches" you to deal with complexity. It helps to train the idea of "breaking down complex tasks into smaller elements" so that you can learn them. Complexity then becomes the sum of its smaller understandable parts.
You can focus on just doing the basics if you like. Warps can be used to give the basics a context, like learning to play a guitar a song at a time and using each song to learn the chords that it contains.
Andrey himself told his students that "Neil makes things easier to learn."
And that's what I've done with warp sequences, made them easy to learn. You can then get on with learning them.
Tools that I've created to make learning easier include movement tables, movement maps and movement math, along with their "warp sequence" variants. Use the tool that suits your needs.
The table below shows the F-F movement from four different starting positions. You can practice this set of movements once while standing on the right leg, the first table and then again while standing on the left leg, the second table (in red.)

First Table
Second Table (Red)
In the first table your stand on your right leg so that your left leg is free. For each new starting position the left arm advances one position.
In the second table you stand on your left leg so that your right leg is free. For each new starting position your right arm advances one position.
Warp Tables
Warp tables show warp sequence positions while standing on right leg and left. They are like movement tables except that each row corresponds to a different movement.

Since one of my goals is to make learning easy and efficient, there is one technique that I share in the Warp programs that makes learning the Mirror Cross Linked moves easier. It also exercises the brain in an interesting fashion. You could say that it warps your mind, but in a good way.
Warp sequence packages are designed to help you learn the warp sequences from the ground up. Because of this, rather than including videos of the actual warp, I've instead only created videos for the basic movements. If you know the basics then the warp sequence itself is just the sum of those basics.
Each video focuses on one move and it's mirror. Videos have movement tables "built in." You can pause the video at a movement table to check the moves and then get on with following along.
All the dance of shiva programs that I create are designed so that ultimately you won't need videos to practice along with. Instead the intent is to teach you in such a way that you can practice by yourself at any time.
Sure you may need the movement tables as a quick reference to remind you of the starting positions, but on the whole you'll be able to do the dance by yourself.
A big part of learning to do the moves by yourself is the math. I've designed the math questions to help you learn the math behind the movements.
All you have to do then is practice them.

Questions are laid out so that you can write answers directly below the question or to the side in the box provided. So if you are actually using pen and paper (or pencil and paper) you can use each quiz twice.
A Math Key (or Cheat Sheet) is also included so that you can quickly get a grasp of the movement that is covered by the quiz. The key below shows all Quadrant 1 F-F movements.
For example, an F-F move from 1-1 results in an answer or 2-2.

I am a teacher at heart, but also and engineer and (ahem) artist. Central to all of those is a belief in working efficiently and effectively, with minimum wasted effort.
My focus is simple, making the basics of this practice easy to learn so that you can get on with learning them. Warp Sequences are one way of practicing the basics.
Warp Flavors are shown below:
With each Warp package you can order
To actually order any of the products,
For ordering and accepting payment I use paypal. All you need is a credit card. Paypal takes care of all the payment issues and also takes care of any disputes.
It can be a little bit scary ordering things online. However, paypal is a reputable third party and in disputes they tend to take the side of the purchasing party (i.e. you.)
When you order you'll be taken to a paypal order page where you'll be asked to enter the email address associated with your paypal account. If you don't have one it is easy to set up, or you can just use your credit card.
Once you've paid, you'll be taken to a download page where you can download videos, movement tables or warp math quizzes, depending on what you've ordered.
You'll also be sent an email with the same links. I'll also send you my email address so that you can contact me with questions or if you need to ask for your money back.
Why might you want your money back? If you aren't satisifed.
I've designed these tools to make learning and doing the dance of shiva as easy as possible. All you've got to do is use the tools and get on with it. If you aren't satisfied then I'll give you your money back.
